How is this free?
We believe in empowering anyone to create events that bring people together. For us, that means providing the right tools for people to plan engaging experiences easily. We’re not focusing on short-term profits from things like ticketing fees as we're creating the platform that in the future will power all live experiences. It also helps that we’re backed by amazing investors like Y Combinator.
What about credit card processing?
We use Stripe as our payment processor and they charge for processing payments online. All money transacted is between you and Stripe, hence we only facilitate payments and do not touch them. When a ticket sale is made, all money is transferred directly to your Stripe account. For the US, they charge 2.9% + $.30 per transaction.
Stripe handles our payment processing and is how you get paid. It’s trusted by thousands of businesses and organizations: Fortune 500 companies, rapidly-growing startups, side projects, nonprofits, and everything in between. Not only that, they ensure you get your funds fast. Two days after a ticket is sold, you’ll have the money in your account. If you don't have a Stripe account, we'll set one up for you on the fly. You can read more about it in our help center.
How do you make money?
Every other ticketing company is focused on making money from what you might expect, ticketing fees. Since we don’t charge for ticketing or the experience we provide, we plan to charge for premium features and additional functionality. We’re creating an events ecosystem and ticketing is only one aspect of it.
